To improve the livelihood of off-grid rural community, B Four Family trading PLC, in Coordination with different Microfinances such as Omo, Vision, Meklit, Peace, Metemamen and Agar Microfinances and Southe and Oromia regions Water, Mines and Energy Offices, has distributed home solar systems and done awareness creation works on the benefit and usage of Home Solar Systems and provide training for rural youths and smallholders on home solar system installation, marketing and promotion.
By 2022 B Four Family Trading PLC has distributed more than 15000 Home Solar Systems in off-grid rural areas of Oromia, SNNPR, Sidama and South West Ethiopia Peoples’ Regions. In this program the regional and district level Water, Mines and Energy Offices have involved in technical assistance; microfinances in loan and finance provision; and B Four family trading PLC in home solar system supply, awareness creation and promotion work.
Through this scheme many youths and rural communities have benefited from job opportunity, rural communities have got clean energy (solar light) at home and reduce their expense for kerosene and protected from breathing smoke, students able to study well with the solar light and small shops and cafes able to make their business longer at night time. In this regard, the distribution and supply of homes solar systems in the off-grid rural communities has brought positive economic, environmental and social impact in the rural community.
In this regard, B Four family Trading plc will continue working in collaboration with Water, Mines and Energy Offices and microfinances on distribution of PAY-AS-YOU-GO & Non-Paygo home solar systems, solar pump, rooftop and also on solar mini-off grid projects.
